What’s new.
Updates, improvements and fixes to Duonote.
Meet Duonote
- WebbyNotes is now Duonote. Browser notes for you and your agent.
- Your notes, settings, license and agent connections stay in this browser.
A softer landing, clearer shortcuts
- A larger held preview settles quickly into place, with smoke appearing only after landing.
- Right-click notes keep their usual size and position, with the same smoke effect.
- Shortcuts now follow License in a simpler grouped layout with key labels for your computer.
Place your notes, your way
- Use Control+N on Mac or Alt+N on Windows and Linux, then click to place a note.
- A smaller preview follows your pointer and settles into place with a quick puff of smoke.
- Find your keyboard shortcuts in Settings.
- Agent tabs and buttons have clearer emphasis, with a checkmark when copying succeeds.
- Settings respond with subtle motion and respect reduced-motion preferences.
Clearer connections, quieter saving
- A small moving dot shows when your note is still saving, with colors that match your note.
- Agent setup stays inside each agent row, with clearer steps, approvals and separate Claude connection options.
- Buy now opens the Gumroad product page in a new tab.
- Deleting a note responds sooner, with a quicker paper fold and smoke effect.
- A dot beside What’s new stays until you open the latest update.
A clearer purchase experience
- Matching purchase and License screens with clearer pricing and full-width actions.
- Your purchase prompt stays open when you open or close checkout.
Cleaner reconnection
- Reconnecting an open page no longer starts the note animation library more than once.
A simpler way to unlock Duonote
- A clearer upgrade dialog with direct Gumroad checkout and a shortcut to enter your license key.
More reliable agent connections
- Agent connections recover more reliably after interrupted startup or a temporary connection failure.
Unlock more notes
- Start with one free note, or activate a one-time Duonote license in Settings.
- Keep editing all existing notes if a license is removed or refunded.
- Activated licenses keep working offline.
- Open notes reconnect after extension updates while preserving your text.
- Typing stays in your note on pages with global keyboard shortcuts.
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab for nested bullet lists, numbered lists and checklists.
Your own colors
- Choose a custom default color in Appearance, with live preview and readable text.
- Use the same color picker in each note menu, alongside Copy, Duplicate, Download, Hide and Delete.
More ways to work with notes
- Notes follow navigation within the same open tab and remain saved at their original page.
- Copy, duplicate or download a note as Markdown from its menu.
- Choose a custom note color with automatically readable text.
- Add headings and dividers, or select text to format it.
- Connect Codex or Claude Code on this computer with browser-approved note access.
- Find Help, Privacy and the builder in About.
A paper goodbye
- Deleted notes fold into a small paper ball, then disappear in a puff of smoke.
- Reduced motion keeps a short, gentle fade.
Reliable first drag
- Notes keep their dropped position when a webpage intercepts mouse release.
- A delayed creation reply no longer interrupts your first drag or returns focus to the editor.
Clearer connection recovery
- Stale warning badges clear after a successful action or page navigation.
- Connection errors explain the next step and preserve drafts left open during an extension update.
Agent-led setup preview
- A browser welcome page can confirm WebbyNote is installed without accessing notes.
- The existing Connect flow remains available. Public npm setup will follow the store release.
Meet WebbyNote
- A new name for your notes. Your saved notes, settings and agent connections stay in place.
A cleaner toolbar menu
- Removed the extra border and clipped shadow inside the Chrome toolbar popup.
New note, directly
- New note is the only WebbyNote action in the webpage context menu, without a submenu.
- Show hidden notes from the Page notes control in the extension toolbar.
Simpler settings
- Removed Backup, export and import controls from Settings. Notes still save automatically in this browser.
Your browser, your agents
- Connect agents without a Google account. Approve access directly from this browser.
- Choose Codex or Claude for guided setup, and see when the connection is verified.
A little more room
- Drag any edge or corner to resize a note. Its size is saved with its position.
- Notes adapt to smaller browser windows and restore their saved size when there is room.
One familiar menu
- The toolbar menu now matches the note menu, with the same typography and icons.
- Show or hide page notes from one compact control.
More ways to make a note yours
- Turn [] followed by a space into a checklist. Check an item to cross it off.
- Arrange overlapping notes with Bring to front and Send to back.
- Choose a note color and font size. New notes leave older hidden notes hidden.
- Find release notes here, with a quiet reminder when something new arrives.
The first development release
- Write notes on webpages, move them, and restore them from this Chrome profile.
- Manual notes work offline. Agent access is optional.
